Bonjour!

We are writing from the plane ride to the Paris Airport. We are one hour out from landing. Before we boarded the plane, we reviewed our teaching plans for Saint-Martin and bought dinner before the plane ride. We boarded the plane and watched movies such as Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip wreaked, We’re the Millers, Dolphin Tale 2, Darkest Minds and Crazy Rich Asians. Many of us got some much needed sleep. So far, we are so excited to start our journey in France. We can’t wait to see our correspondents again and see what their life is like in France. Once we get off the plane we have a train to catch to the north. Bon Voyage!

Salut!

At the moment we are still about an hour from Paris in the plane, most of us just waking up due to a long few hours in the airport planning our teaching schedule and getting ready for the flight. All of us are very excited to see the Calais region of France (where we are headed first), and put the skills we have been practicing for so long to good use. More updates on how our first day went on the way (I think).

Salut!

Currently we are over Britain and we have one hour left until we reach France. We are so excited! (And maybe a little sleep deprived but that’s okay). At the airport, we made a teaching schedule for our day at Saint Martin, we bought some snacks and dinner, and then we boarded the plane. On the plane, some of us watched movies, listen to music, and sleep. Our first airplane meal was chicken with marinara sauce, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. The second meal looks like a ham and cheese sandwich, but we are afraid to eat it. Anyways, we will get more food at the train stop later.

The plane is has cool windows! Instead of a pull-down shade there’s a button that changes the opacity of the glass. Currently I am watching an awful movie remake of a book I read in middle school. I second (third?) Liv and Maddy’s fear of the sandwich.

Ready to board the TGV!

I am reporting to the blog from our train to Lille. We are all very excited to arrive and meet or reunite with our correspondents from the North. The plane ride was long, but definitely worth it. We are fortunate enough to enjoy the beautiful landscape of France as we make our journey to Lille. We’ll update you all later, once we arrive.

I am currently on the train to Lille. We are about to play a fun game of Go Fish. The train is purple, cool, and comfortable with great views of farmland. We are all very tired but very excited to go see our friends from Calais.

The flight went very well, currently I am on the train to Calais to meet my host family. The TGV is very spacious, much nicer than the trains we have in LA. Everyone is very excited but a bit sleep deprived.

The TGV is a nice change from the cooped up flight. I can’t wait to meet my correspondent from Calais. I enjoyed hosting Paul so much and I am excited for a similar experience in France. I also am ready to go to sleep.
